October 5th in Rexburg, Idaho equals enough of fall, lets jump into winter. Rexburg had its first SNOW today. Oh joy. I woke up expecting just cold weather and rain, but the forecast decided to surprise us. I peeked through our blinds and proceeded to shout, "Are you kidding me? It's snowing outside!" Just what Stu wanted to hear I am sure. He's been up late studying lately while i've been the bum who goes to bed. Poor thing, he's up late studying and then I have to wake him up with my verbal disappointments.
Besides the snow, today was a pretty good day. I have a ton of homework and more group projects than you can imagine piling up, but these things don't seem to worry me much. I am more worried about finding a job now that Rexburg has proved useless in the job market. So, after class, I decided to skip homework and head to Idaho Falls instead to job search. I went to a few restaurants and a few retail stores but found myself soon distracted by the ever-so-wonderful, TJ Maxx. I swear if I were a store, I would be TJ Maxx. I love it! It's so completely random but full of great finds. I always see the coolest house stuff there and they always have great shoes in abundance. Of course considering the jobless situation that I am in at the moment I stuck strictly to just browsing the shoes and trying on just a few for mere fun.
I moved onto the house decor in search of a beside lamp. Its no fun taking turns getting out of bed and turing off the light and Stu and I have been on the lookout for a good lamp. My search proved successful, thanks to picture texting jess (thanks jess!), and I found a decently priced, and cute might I add, beside lamp! Now, Stu can just roll over and click off the light :)
I finally left TJ Maxx, but instead of getting in my car like a good girl, I went over a few stores to Bed, Bath and Beyond. Ok, if I were another store, it would NOT be Bed, Bath and Beyond. This store drives me crazy! It is over-stimulating with its thousands of items. I feel like I can never find what I want and today was another one of those times. I walked pass the Brita water filters like 3 times before I saw them. Stu and I had one last gift card at Bed, Bath and Beyond and we have been wanting a water-filter pitcher since we drink tap water so much. So, I left with a Brita water pitcher but an increased dislike for BB&B. They need to get their life together with their inventory.
Its funny how things like a Brita water pitcher or a bedside lamp can make you feel better about your life. I find myself actually liking "grown-up" things and enjoy making our little apartment "home." Maybe I am cut out for this wife stuff after all?
