Thoughts on Trends

Inspired by crowded public settings as of late: This is a blog about random thoughts and opinions I have about trends that have caught my attention.

Trends I do not understand nor want to:

1. Crocs.

Yes, I know that these have been around for awhile now, I just figured they would have died out by 2011. I don't get it. Like, they're clogs. Holey clogs. That are made of rubber and plastic? And grown and little people alike are strolling around in them? This is one trend I refuse to give into. And why are they so expensive? Don't get it! 

2. Giant hair bows & flowers

Can someone please explain to me why GROWN up women are walking around with gigantic bows and fake daises with a rhinestone middle in their hair? They either look like Hello Kitty or an Anne Geddes picture. This is hideous and I am more than ready for it to be OVER.

3. Cowboy boots with dresses and skirts. Or cowboy boots in general.

I felt like the name given to these boots would be perfect explanation enough for who and ONLY who should wear these...ahem, COWBOYS. I hate them. Especially when girls where them with dresses. I just do. Sorry. Ew.

4. Shutter glasses. 

Why would you want to copy ANYTHING that Kanye West does? Don't you see how much of idiot he makes of himself everytime he's in a public setting? It's like he MUST say the stupidest things ever in interviews and at any awards show. And then he tries to make up for his behavior by hiding behind slitted plastic shades...hahahhaha this trend sucks.

5. Jumpsuits. Ugh. Enough said.

6. And can we also stop with the leggings trend now? 

It was kinda cute before, but now its just TOO 80's...why does the 80's keep revolving? And if it must, why can't we IMPROVE it?

7. And the "best" for last--can SOMEONE please tell me why in the world the 

FANNY PACK IS BACK???

Trends that I absolutely love:

1. Peep-toe booties.

I love these shoes! And they're even cuter on! I especially love these in the picture below by Jimmy Choo:

2. Floral prints done right.

I love all the floral print that is in for spring. It's ultra-feminine and so pretty if done right. I believe these ladies have done a fantastic job:

3. Fedora hats. Especially on men! So cute. 

4. Neutral colored pumps.

5. Lace.

I love all the lacy details and lace used in mass lately. It's so ladylike and pretty! 

6. Zigi Soho Gladiators.

I'm obsessed. Zigi Soho has really pretty and fun gladiator sandals. This one below is just one of many that I NEED in my life.

7. Military influence.

I really like this look as long as its done right. I believe you must pair military-inspired pieces with plainer things so that it is the main attraction. Check out Beyonce here doin it right:

8. Tortoise-shell watch bands.

My favorite of all trends right now. This one below is the one in particular that I have my eye on:

I believe this is all for now...A quick trip to Concord Mills Mall could definitely inspire more good & bad...until then...
